How To Manually/ Automatically Update Windows 8 and Windows 8.1

1. Go To Control Panel -> System And Security -> Windows Update And Then Click on "Change Setting" on the left pane of open window.

OR Press Windows Key + W to open the Setting Search screen. Type "Windows Update" on the search box and Click on “Windows Update Setting” on the search result.

Then Click on "Choose How Updates Get Installed"

2. On Important Updates You will Get A drop down menu. Click on there.

3. You will Get 4 option as

1. Install Updates Automatically (Recommended): This will automatically download and install the updates whenever your PC is connected to Internet. It will not ask for your Confirmation about Download and installation of updates.
2. Download Updates but let me choose whether to install them: This will automatically download the installation package from the internet whenever your PC is connected to internet but ask you whether you want to install the updates or not. After confirming you it will install the updates.
3. Check for Updates but let me choose whether to download and Install them: This will check for the updates automatically but ask your confirmation about downloading and Installing the Updates. It will not download or Install update automatically.
4. Never Check for Updates (Not Recommended): This will not check the update for your Windows 8 system.

4. Choose Your required option and click on OK or Apply (Which is available).

Automatically Update Windows 8.1 and Windows 8: To install the updates of Microsoft automatically in your Windows system choose the option Install Updates Automatically (Recommended). It will automatically download the updates and install them on your system when you are connected to the internet.

How To Manually Update Windows 8.1 and Windows 8

Manually Update Windows 8 and Windows 8.1: To receive the windows updates manually choose the 2nd and 3rd option. The option will work as follows

• Download Updates but let me choose whether to install them: This will automatically download the installation package from the internet whenever your PC is connected to internet but ask you whether you want to install the updates or not. After confirming you it will install the updates.
• Check for Updates but let me choose whether to download and Install them: This will check for the updates automatically but ask your confirmation about downloading and Installing the Updates. It will not download or Install update automatically.

Note: If you choose never check for updates, then windows will not download and install any updates from Microsoft on your system.
